The incident occurred in Uniondale on Friday, May 12 at approximately 3:10 p.m., according to Nassau County police.
The victim, a 16-year-old girl, was walking along Henry Street near First Place when a man in a dark blue four-door Mercedes sedan pulled up next to her.
According to police, the man tried to start a conversation with the girl while he sat in the car, and when she looked into the car window, he began performing a lewd act.
Afraid, the girl reportedly ran away and hid in a bush until the man drove off in an unknown direction. She went home and contacted the police.
Officials describe the suspect as a Black male with a skinny build.
He was reportedly wearing a white t-shirt with blue and green shorts and possibly had a Jamaican accent.
The car had tinted windows and no front license plate.
